Shipping and LAG
Shipping
Shipping live spiders is only offered through FedEx.
Live spider shipping is through Redline (FedEx). Choose between 2-Day Express or Overnight Express at checkout.
In order to qualify for Live Arrival Guarantee, OVERNIGHT shipping to your nearest FedEx Ship Center must be selected. (See below.) Choosing 2-Day or residential shipping voids LAG. That being said, I have never had issues using 2-day shipping and all steps are taken to ship spiders safely and securely.
(To find your nearest Ship Center, visit the FedEx website, input your address, and filter results to show locations with "Dangerous Goods Shipping".)
I usually ship on Tuesdays. Shipping will be postponed in the event of extreme weather, FedEx service interruptions, or busy holidays.
If your temperatures are:
• Below 40°F - Shipping will be postponed for warmer weather.
• Between 41°F and 90°F - Hold at Location (HAL) is recommended but not required. Shipping will happen as normal.
• Between 91°F and 98°F - HAL is REQUIRED. Overnight shipping is highly recommended.
• Above 98°F - Shipping postponed for cooler weather.
Enclosures and other items will be shipped separately via USPS, unless otherwise stated (such as bundle deals with small enclosures).
LAG/DOA
(Live Arrival Guarantee /
Dead On Arrival)
I offer Live Arrival Guarantee on OVERNIGHT shipments to FedEx Ship Centers year-round.
Choosing 2-Day shipping or delivery to your home or place of work voids any LAG.
If your spider(s) are Dead On Arrival (DOA)photo or video proof must me sent to me within the first 3 hours after package is marked as "Ready for Pickup" at the FedEx Ship Center. Late package pickup (more than 3 hours after delivery notice) resulting in DOA animals voids LAG.
Where possible, a replacement spider will be offered. If a replacement spider is not available, a refund for the cost of the spider will then be offered. Shipping costs are typically not refundable.
Full refund (spider AND shipping costs) will only be offered in the case of unexpected FedEx disruption AND when I am able to make an insurance claim with Redline Shipping for the cost of both spider(s) and shipping.
These terms ensure the safe and reliable delivery of your spiders while maintaining the integrity of the Live Arrival Guarantee.
Enclosure Disclaimers
All enclosures are handmade and as such, small imperfections or blemishes can be expected. All enclosures are subjected to a "shake test" before shipping. Should any pieces become lose in transit, I will guide you through repairing it at home or you can return it to me for a full refund, excluding shipping costs.
Excess moisture or humidity, improper use, any drops or rough handling may result in some items of decor to fail. Every precaution is taken while building the enclosures, including the use of two different glues, and with proper use they should not fail. Therefore, any accident or injury caused by misuse of the enclosures or their contents is the buyer's responsibility.
If you are unhappy with your enclosure or accessories for any reason, please contact me immediately.
Nothing purchased from Kit's Critters should be considered safe for young children due to moving parts, removable parts, magnets, etc.
Spider Disclaimers
General information to know before you adopt a spider.
Several jumping spider species can change color from molt to molt. As such, color at maturity is never guaranteed. The biggest example of this would be with female Regals. I have personally seen a white spider turn dark and black spiders turn orange.
Sex of a jumping spider can also be difficult to tell before subadult or adult. Some even present female until adulthood. All spider adoptions come with no guarantee of gender unless they are already adult at the time of adoption. Any spider marked as "male" or "female" is a best educated guess.
ALL spiders from Kit's Critters are Captive Bred (CB) or Captive Raised (CR). You will NEVER receive a Wild Caught (WC) spider from me.
